WILL NEW BRIGG TOWN CENTRE 'NO QUEUE ZONE' SORT TWO AGE OLD PROBLEMS?

The central section of pedestrianised Wrawby Street is earmarked to become a temporary No Queue Zone where people waiting to access local businesses will not be permitted to be.
This will ensure anti-Coronavirus social distancing between these shoppers and folk who are walking by.
Sadly, just as we were taking this picture a few days ago - in what is supposed to be a traffic-free area - we heard a noise and turned to find a car approaching, closely followed by a bike whose rider had not dismounted as suggested by town centre instructional signs.
These are not isolated incidents and lead us to wonder whether the introduction and suggested official monitoring of shop queues will deter some drivers and cyclists from using this part of Wrawby Street as a convenient and time-saving short cut.
Parked vehicles in the so-called traffic-free zone also pose a problem and do not help social distancing by pedestrians forced to walk round them.
