IMPROVEMENTS APPROVED FOR LISTED BUILDING IN BRIGG TOWN CENTRE
Improvements to a listed building within Brigg town centre's conservation area have been approved.
North Lincolnshire Council has granted listed building consent to permit the replacement of wooden first floor sash windows at the First Floor Flat, 5 Bigby Street.
This 18th century grade two listed building is next to St John's Church and directly opposite the Dying Gladiator pub.
It is the buff-coloured building on the above picture.
Planners were told by the applicant that the wooden windows were rotten and in need of 'like for like' replacement.
Due to their condition, the current windows cannot be used for ventilation purposes.
The shop front on the ground floor, beneath the flat, is thought to have been a 19th century addition.
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering another Brigg application - erection of a single-storey rear extension at 5 Maple Close.
