NEW BEER GOING DOWN WELL IN BRIGG

The Yarborough Hunt in Brigg has a fine reputation locally for its range of real ales.
We popped in last Saturday and surveyed the pumps, as usual, to select a tipple to try.
A new one was on offer - Humber Hopster - from Lincolnshire Craft Beers at Melton Ross.
The brewery says it's a hoppy beer made from Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops "to produce that beautiful aroma and flavour that leaves you wanting more."
This proved to be correct, and we stayed with it for the remainder of our Saturday night stay.
We hope Humber Hopster will stay 'on pump' at the Yarborough for many weeks.
This eye-catching pump emblem caught our eye at the bar. The man featured reminded us of legendary 19th century England cricketer Dr W. G. Grace.
Don't forget there's a gallon of ale to be won at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Brigg Market Place every Tuesday when it's Trivia Night - a fun quiz from 8.30pm. We expect the prize ale is one brewed by The Old Mill Brewery, Snaith, which owns this hostelry.

The Gas Band will be appearing at Brigg Town Football Club's licensed clubhouse on Saturday, March 21, from 8pm. Free admission - all welcome.
An electric car charging point was installed in Brigg some time ago by North Lincolnshire Council - in the car park behind the Angel building. Now one is being added in the Sutton Arms pub-restaurant car park at Scawby, with a view to commissioning midway through March.

  1. So that's 3 for public use so far....and how many electric cars are predicted by 2030?

  2. I've driver several different models of an electric car...surprisingly nifty...but one has to be very economical with the use of headlights, windscreen wipers, usb charging, radio and one has to reduce speed from the usual 70mph on the motorway to about 55mph to maximise the range....otherwise a range of 80, becomes 40..Then there's the logistical promblem of having to wait 30 mins for a rapid charge to 80 percent...not firgetting, the practical problem of how do folks in such places like Grammar School Road, Glebe Road and Albert St charge their electric vehicles...!!!!
