ALDI STORE BUILD IN BRIGG PROGRESSING WHILE NEW BARNETBY ONE GETS GREEN LIGHT

Retailers Aldi and the Lincolnshire Co-operative are bringing new stores to Brigg and Barnetby respectively.
Work is now progressing on Aldi's store, off the A18 Bridge Street, as these very recent Brigg Blog pictures show.
Aldi currently lists its Brigg store as "coming soon" - being one of 30 set to open across the UK this year.
North Lincolnshire Council recently granted the Co-op planning permission to build a convenience outlet on the former scaffolding company site, off Victoria Road.
The location is near the main railway line and the former Barnetby East signalbox, so this is clearly a case of the council giving the green light!
An assessment report by North Lincolnshire Council planning staff said: "One letter of support has been received from a local resident who believes that this development is needed in Barnetby and will offer a variety of goods currently not available in the village.
"No adverse comments have been received in relation to the proposal as submitted, and it is considered that the scale and design of the  proposal, together with the parking and access arrangements, are acceptable on this existing commercial site."
Permitted opening hours will be 7am to 10pm, and the council says the public footpath adjoining the site will not be affected by the store development.
