CUSTOMERS GLAD THEY VISITED BRIGG SNACK BAR AS STORM CIARA APPROACHED
Customers at the Dying Gladiator pub in Brigg town centre were able to warm themselves on Saturday night ahead of Storm Ciara's arrival.
They tucked into fast food being served up by Andrew Devai at his Snack Shack catering van, located in the hostelry's beer garden.
As the storm drew near the temperature dipped a little, a stiff breeze developed and rain began to fall.
So it was no surprise that many people placed their orders at Andrew's counter, including Brigg Blog, and returned to the covered part of the beer garden to tuck in.
We enjoyed a very tasty hot burger in a bun with all the trimmings, including onions and a dash of mustard.
It warmed us up nicely for the trudge home - after sampling one last drink from the bar!
Andrew's small business venture launched in December and operates at weekends.
While in the Yarborough Hunt, Bridge Street, earlier on Saturday evening, we noticed a supply of leaflets advertising Point to Point Races to be held at Brocklesby Park, off the A18 near Humberside Airport, this Saturday (February 15).
The first race will be at noon and there will be trade stands, hot food and a licensed bar. Admission is £15 - pay on the gate. Sponsors listed at the foot of the leaflet include Brigg Office Supplies, Brown & Co and DDM Agricultural.
We anticipate quite a few people from our area enjoying a day at the races on Saturday.
