BRIGG FOLK ADVISED TO KEEP AN EYE ON PROGRESS OF STORM DENNIS LATER THIS WEEK

The Met Office today issued a weather warning about Storm Dennis bringing heavy rain, snow and gales to part of the UK.
Early indications are that it won't hit the Brigg area like Storm Ciara at the weekend, which brought down trees, including the one pictured above on Birch Avenue by Ken Harrison.
Storm Dennis is forecast to bring wind and snow to much of Scotland, the Borders and parts of north-western England over the coming weekend.
However, if it tracks on a more southerly route we might be in its path. So Brigg Blog's advice is to keep checking weather forecasts later in the week and on Saturday.

2.35pm Tuesday update: A yellow weather warning about strong winds in North Lincolnshire on Saturday (February 15), relating to Storm Dennis, has now been issued by the Met Office. A yellow warning means "a slight chance of some damage to buildings" and also a small chance of longer public transport journey times.
