National pub chain Wetherspoon's, whose portfolio includes the White Horse in Brigg town centre, has announced a new initiative for its popular breakfasts.
Customers can now 'build their own' at 100 outlets taking part in a trial - meaning that if you don't like a particular item on the list, you can choose two portions of something else.
However, our "Spoons" on Wrawby Street, and Scunthorpe's newly-extended Blue Bell on Oswald Road, are NOT taking part in the trial, Wetherspoon's national spokesman tells us. Nor are the company's hostelries in Cleethorpes and Grimsby (near the Town railway station).
So those who like their eggs in the morning will have to wait and see whether 'build your own breakfast' is rolled out across ALL Wetherspoon's pub/restaurants, in due course, including Brigg's.
With or without the 'build your own' option, the firm's breakfasts, currently costing £3.65p, are good value for money, in our opinion, having tried them at various outlets across the UK over the years.
