Female vocalist Michaela will be performing at the Woolpack, in Brigg Market Place, on Saturday, January 11, from 9pm. Her songs range from rock and roll to country music, pop, soul and disco. Admission to this gig is free - all welcome.
If you see a group of people dressed in purple in Brigg town centre any Saturday this month they could be taking part in local pub crawl events, having met up in Wetherspoon's White Horse, on Wrawby Street.
Following our recent post about lost property accumulating at the Dying Gladiator, on Bigby Street, we gather that some people dropped in to reclaim coats and jackets they had left behind.

The Jolly Miller, on Brigg Road, Wrawby, is making plans to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Friday, May 8. This day in 1945 followed the German surrender during the Second World War and saw big gatherings in cities towns and villages - many involving pubs. We'll post further details about the Jolly Miller's event nearer the time. Note that May 8, 2020 is a national bank holiday, despite it being a Friday.
Among pubs already advertising Valentine's Day menus for Friday, February 14 is the Wheatsheaf at Hibaldstow - three courses for £20. Call 01652 659595.
Brigg Blog tries its best to publicise what's happening at licensed premises in the town and nearby. We think that hostelries deserve support, as they play an important community role.
Nationally, The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is currently sponsoring Tryanuary, which encourages people to support local pubs throughout January 2020.
After all that Christmas expense, the first month of the year sees a reduction in trade for many licensed premises.
