BRIGG & DISTRICT HAS MANY STRIKING PERIOD PROPERTIES
Brigg and district contains many striking centuries-old buildings which have been kept in good order by successive owners.
So Brigg Blog was interested to see a recent planning application - relating to Bigby Rectory - being publicised by West Lindsey District Council. It refers to outbuildings near this listed property.
Permission is now being sought to rebuild a fire-damaged garage and for various internal and external alterations to the existing chauffeur's accommodation for use as annexe accommodation.
A statement submitted with the application says: "All aspects of the rebuilding will match the previous fire-damaged range."
The outbuildings are approximately 60m to the north-west of the main house, access to that being from Main Street along a curving drive, which sweeps through the open parkland.
The Old Rectory was built circa 1790 and originally served All Saints' Church, Bigby.
West Lindsey planners are now considering this application.
