NEW BRIGG FOOD FESTIVAL COULD ATTRACT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE
Plans to introduce a new food festival in Brigg are to be considered at a meeting on Monday (November 25).
Brigg Town Council will discuss an approach received from the North Lincolnshire authority, suggesting a future FoodFest.
When something similar was launched on Friday, November 1 in Crowle, more than 1,500 people attended.
Brigg councillors - meeting in the Angel Suite on Monday from 7.15pm - will be asked to consider receiving "a presentation" about a future Brigg FoodFest.
Staff at North Lincolnshire Council want to know whether Brigg councillors are interested in seeing a food festival staged here.
At the Crowle event, visitors sampled mouth-watering meats from The Pink Pig, crepes from The Crepe Company, pizzas from Pizza Mamma, a hog roast from Lion Outside Bars, German sausages from the German Swing Grill, milkshakes from Moo Moo’s and The Cookie People Company’s cookies.
Another FoodFest is planned for Scunthorpe town centre on Saturday, November 30, to coincide with the Scunthorpe Christmas Lights Switch On.
North Lincolnshire Council is also hoping that FoodFests will follow in Kirton Lindsey, Brigg, Barton, Epworth "and elsewhere over coming months."
Monday night's meeting, which is open to interested members of the public, will also receive an update on the new allotments site earmarked for Woodbine Park, Brigg.
