D-DAY APPROACHING FOR PLAN TO BUILD NEW HOUSES IN BRIGG TOWN CENTRE
A decision is now imminent on a planning application seeking permission to build three new houses in Brigg town centre - two years after it was submitted to North Lincolnshire Council.
Approval is being sought for the two-storey properties to the rear of 53 Wrawby Street - on land facing Cross Street which is currently used for private parking.
North Lincolnshire Council's Planning Committee - meeting in Scunthorpe on Wednesday, November 20 - will decide whether to approve or refuse the application.
Three letters of objection have been received - suggesting a loss of available parking, loss of privacy for a flat nearby on Wrawby Street, and the fact that no parking spaces are indicated for the new properties.
A detailed report prepared for councillors by planning staff ahead of the meeting says: "The main issues for consideration with regard to the determination of this application are whether the proposed dwellings, in terms of their design, are acceptable with regard to the character and appearance of the conservation area, and whether, in terms of their siting and scale, they would adversely affect the amenities afforded to neighbouring residential properties."
Planning staff are recommending that the application is refused, but the decision rests with elected councillors serving on the committee.
The meeting, to be held in the Conference Room at Church Square House in Scunthorpe town centre, starts at 2pm and is open to interested members of the public.
Other applications to be considered at this meeting include:
Outline approval to erect a dwelling on land west of Glovers Paddock, Ings Lane, Hibaldstow.
Outline approval for nine dwellings to the north of Habrough Lane, Kirmington.
Erect a dwelling, with associated works, adjacent to Samantha, Main Street, Howsham.
