BY ORDER! BRIGG ROAD CLOSURE COMING UP

A road closure will affect part of Brigg town centre, with diversions in place.
North Lincolnshire has made an official Order permitting this to happen on Sunday, October 27.
The Order will temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following streets/roads in and near Brigg between 9.10am and 11.30pm:

  • Bigby Street (from the junction with St Clare’s Walk)
  • Elwes Street
  • Cadney Road
  • Brigg Road to the Bridge Lane junction.
The diversionary route for drivers between Brigg, Howsham and Cadney is Bigby Road, Bigby High Road, the B1434, Main Street, Cadney Road.
This temporary closure is not due to roadworks but because the Brigg Poppy 10k race will be taking place.
Previously, runners and spectators - particularly along Cadney Road - have encountered moving vehicles heading into and leaving Brigg.
Some 'advance warning' signs about the impending road closure have already appeared locally, suggesting it will last "approximately two hours" and apologising to motorists for any inconvenience.

One of the advance warning signs in Brigg - this one being sited recently near the Monument roundabout.
