BRIGG FOLK WELCOME ON REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
There's a poster near the Tesco store in Brigg promoting a local event coming up on Remembrance Sunday.
Remembrance cream teas will be served on November 10 at Elsham Golf Club, from 3pm.
While people are tucking into their tasty scones, Mary Daw will be singing war-time songs.
The event organisers say she's a wonderful Forties performer. Tickets cost £10 and can be obtained by calling 01652 680291.
Brigg will be staging its usual dignified Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument war memorial on November 10 at 11am. There will also be a parade and a service at St John's Church. Our memorial to The Fallen having been dedicated in 1919, this is its 100th anniversary year.
Some members of the public attending the Brigg ceremony may wish to head to Elsham in the afternoon for the event at the golf club which is located on the right beyond the level crossing.
