BRIGG COUNCILLOR HAILS £100K BEING RAISED FOR LOCAL GOOD CAUSES

Coun Rob Waltham (Brigg & Wolds) has welcomed £100,000 being raised for good causes through the Lincs Lotto. The Leader of North Lincolnshire Council says this is a huge amount of funding.

Local community groups, sports clubs, parish councils and charities are celebrating after collectively raising over £100,000 thanks to players of Lincs Lotto.
Launched in 2017, Lincs Lotto is North Lincolnshire’s community lottery. Sixty pence from each £1 Lincs Lotto ticket sold goes towards local good causes across North Lincolnshire.
Now after nearly two years of weekly draws, the 127 local good causes signed up to the scheme are celebrating having raised over £100,000.
Cllr Rob Waltham, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, met with representatives from some of the Lincs Lotto good causes at a celebration event at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre on Tuesday 24 September 2019. He said:
“£100,000 is a huge amount of funding that Lincs Lotto players have raised for local charities and other voluntary and community groups. Lincs Lotto has been growing and growing since its launch, and it’s fantastic to see us reach this funding milestone amount in less than two years.
“For lots of good causes, every bit of funding can be life-changing, and by choosing to support Lincs Lotto, you know that a huge 60 per cent of your ticket price is going towards good causes on your doorstep, right here in North Lincolnshire.”
Mick Wilson from Barnetby Community Club – one of the good causes benefiting from Lincs Lotto funds – said: “Anything that raises funds to go into the local community is a great asset and the group use funds to provide events for the young and old.
“Raising £100,000 across North Lincolnshire to offer better opportunities for the total population is amazing. Thank you to all of our supporters”
As well as the usual £25,000 jackpot, on Saturday 2 November, Lincs Lotto players could win one of a five Amazon entertainment bundles – including an Amazon Echo, Fire TV Stick, Echo Dot, and a tablet – courtesy of external lottery manager Gatherwell.
Tickets for Lincs Lotto can be bought online at www.lincslotto.co.uk with players in with a chance of winning a cash prize between £25 and £25,000 each week.
North Lincolnshire Council appointed Gatherwell Ltd as the external lottery manager for Lincs Lotto.
