Brigg Blog chanced upon this interesting picture taken in the town around 1904.
We've seen a scanned copy of it before but we've now located a black and white print.
The location is unknown but it was clearly within the town centre.
We wonder whether the picture might show College Yard.
Robert Glover is seen with his son Archie, who appears to be holding an apple, with many more on display in the window.
Could Robert be standing outside a shop he owned or managed?
The style of hat, jacket and pocket-watch chain suggest a man of some means.
We'd like to hear from anyone who can supply further details.
The same goes for the picture below, also thought to date back to the early years of the 20th century.
Halmshaw's and Elwood's shops are side-by-side on the extreme left (nearest the camera) with the Butchers Arms pub (offering accommodation) centre left.
The Congregational Chapel is away in the distance (left of centre).
Wrawby Street must have been pretty dim after dark in those days, with a solitary gas light evident.
The clock above the shop on the right provided a useful service to passers by at a time when poorer people could not afford watches.
Its hands show High Noon when the photographer recorded the scene, but here's no sign of tumbleweed or Gary Cooper on his horse!
