BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLERS MAKE A CRACKING START

Congratulations  to Brigg Town Football Club for making a cracking start to the new 2019/2020 season on Saturday (August 3).
Newly promoted to the Toolstation Northern Counties East First Division, the Zebras came from behind to beat East Hull 6-2 at the EC Surfacing Stadium (The Hawthorns).
Goalscorers for Brigg were Stuart Longbone (two), Jake Reed, Ryan Thompson, James Osborne and Jack Tierney.
The official attendance figure was 118.
Brigg Town Reserves will be playing in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier this season.
That's the competition the club's first team left after gaining promotion as runners-up in May.
So once football gets back into full swing, there will be Saturday games to watch most weeks at Brigg's ground.
The EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League (playing on Saturdays and sponsored by a Brigg company) does not kick off until early September.
Barnetby United's first team will be in Division One, with Barnetby Reserves and Brigg-based Briggensians in Division Two.
The Scunthorpe & District Sunday League, also involving some local sides, has yet to begin its new season.
