WHEN RECORD VILLAGE SHOP CATERED FOR BRIGG MUSIC-LOVERS
An unusual event coming up in the Brigg area reflects a nostalgia-fuelled craze for traditional vinyl LP records and singles.
Many youngsters now purchase pop tunes online through downloads to their mobile phones or tablets, rather than buying discs.
But there's growing demand, particularly among those of more senior years, for vinyl - playing at 33, 45 or even 78 revolutions per minute.
So we expect plenty of potential customers to visit a Record Fair, to be held at Broughton Village Hall, on the High Street, on Sunday, May 19, from 1pm to 4pm, when records, CDs and DVDs will be on offer.
It's not that long ago that Brigg boasted a Record Village shop on Wrawby Street where music fans went to buy the latest tunes in the charts in vinyl and cassette format.
Now That's What I Call Music!
Brigg punk band The Diseased (pictured) used to be frequent visitors to our local record store. They are seen here on Wrawby Street circa 1986.
