The 2018/2019 hockey season is drawing to a close in Brigg - having been enjoyed by men's, ladies and junior teams playing home matches on the 'Blue Astro' floodlit pitch at North Lincolnshire Council's Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road.
This picture shows 'golden oldies' Helen Cresswell, Fred Cooper and George Armstrong with Brigg Ladies' first team captain Kathryn Roberts prior to the local side triumphing 8-3 against Selby.
This trio of seniors - with considerable umpiring experience going back many years - watch many Brigg hockey fixtures at The Rec, offering their support to a sport that is very popular in the town.
Helen tells us that two more women umpires qualified recently, making four in all this season.
She is also involved with tennis at The Rec which is "going strong" and with table tennis.
