GREEN LIGHT FOR NEW HOME NEAR BRIGG ON SITE WITH RAILWAY CONNECTIONS
Outline planning permission has been granted for a new home to be built on the outskirts of Brigg.
West Lindsey District Council has approved the erection of one dwelling to replace a mobile home at Ashdale, Bigby High Road, Kettleby.
This is close to Brigg Garden Centre and the new Pingley Park housing development.
The successful applicant has an address in Hibaldstow.
The site was given permission in 1976 for a mobile home to replace living accommodation provided by "an old railway carriage."
That brings back early 1970s memories for Brigg Blog of delivering newspapers to the couple who lived there in what West Lindsey Council describes as a carriage, though we think it may have been a converted wagon.
A planning report prepared about the recent application says that a further detailed proposal, subject to good design, scale and positioning, could enhance the appearance and character of this plot.
"The current building, whilst small and insignificant in some ways, is also of a more utilitarian design and this proposal could represent an enhancement," the report suggests.
Brigg Blog is pleased to see the green light being given for a new dwelling to be built on a site once occupied by a railway carriage, or was it a converted wagon?
West Lindsey District Council has also granted permission for a single-storey extension to form an annexe at Fieldside, Brigg Road, North Kelsey.
It is also considering an outline application for up to nine dwellings on land adjacent to Sheepcote Hill Farm, South Street, North Kelsey.
Permission is also being sought for demolition of an existing bungalow and the erection of two dwellings at Avalon, Middle Street, North Kelsey.
Clearly this village within the Brigg area is a very popular place to live!
