The new 'Song for Brigg' is to receive five hundred notes from the Town Council.
The Brigg Singers group applied for a grant to help commission the tune, and Coun Ann Eardley told colleagues she considered this to be a really good idea.
Coun Eardley and Coun Rob Waltham suggested £500, which was agreed.
Brigg is also starting early with its plans for the Christmas Lights Switch On 2019. The Town Council, which provides the festive illuminations and arranges music on a stage in the Market Place, is to reconvene a working group to look at the issue.
