PLANS FOR NEW SPEED LIMIT NEAR BRIGG SUPPORTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL

Brigg Town Council is supporting a proposed new speed limit on an approach road.
Neighbouring highway authority Lincolnshire County Council is looking at introducing a 40mph limit on the A1084 Bigby High Road near Brigg Garden Centre.
The same scheme also proposes a 50mph limit from Kettleby, through Grasby to the outskirts of Caistor.
Having considered the plans from Lincolnshire County Council, Brigg Town Council gave its support.
Coun Mike Storey, chairing the latest meeting of the Planning & Environment Committee in the Angel Suite, said some residents of Bigby High Road had been calling for a reduced speed limit, which was considered "a good idea."
Lincolnshire County Council has carried out a comprehensive study, with December 14 the deadline for comments on these proposals.
