BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLERS WIN 'SIX-POINTER'


Brigg Town  are back at the top of the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire Football League Premier table following a 2-1 away with over close rivals Lincoln United Reserves at the city's Ashby Avenue ground yesterday (Saturday, October 13, 2018).
Reece Moody put Brigg ahead from the penalty spot, with Jack Tierney adding a second goal on the half-hour.
Lincoln reduced the arrears early in the second half, but that was the end of the scoring.
Brigg and Lincoln United Reserves are now level on points, but the Zebras have a better goal difference and have two games in hand on the second-placed side.
Brigg have won six and drawn one of their opening league matches - a very good start to the campaign.

In the first round of the Johnsons Transport Ironstone Cup, Briggensians were 2-1 home winners over Crosby Colts, with goals from Matthew Callaway and Ben Lingard.
In their T.S.W. Printers Sporting Shield quarter-final, Barnetby United won 2-0 at Epworth Town Colts Blues, with goals from Andrew Bradley and Jack Blendell
In division two, Jack Wilson scored for Hibaldstow Wanderers who lost 3-1 at Crosby Colts Reserves.
Barnetby United Reserves, who lead division two, were without a fixture yesterday.
