BRIGG FLAT CONVERSION LOOKING GOOD
Planning permission to create a ground floor Brigg flat was granted in early 2014 by North Lincolnshire Council. Two years later, approval was given to re-align windows.
It now seems that the conversion of 3 Garden Street from an insurance office is complete.
And as the above picture from October 2018 shows, it's a good-looking addition to the town centre Conservation Area.
Applicant Derek Bradley told council planners in June 2016 "It lends itself to a nice ground floor flat close to the amenities of central Brigg."
Garden Street is narrow and connects Queen Street with Cross Street.
This part of the town was developed in the 1860s as Brigg was extended with right royal names like Queen Street and Albert Street.
With high demand for housing in Brigg, perhaps we'll see further schemes to convert lower and particularly upper floors of other town centre buildings into living accommodation, particularly those that have been out of use for some time.
Two years ago we ran a post about conversion of the former brewery tower behind Wrawby Street - just a stone's throw from Garden Street.
