A cricketer was out in Brigg celebrating his maiden century in senior club cricket last night (Saturday, September 15).
Shaun Clark was at the Yarborough Hunt, on Bridge Street, with team-mates from the Broughton first team after scoring a fine 122.
It came in their final game of the season in division one of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League.
All-rounder Shaun's century was made on the famous Brumby Hall ground in Scunthorpe where top Test players like West Indian Sir Garry Sobers and England's Geoff Boycott, Chris Old, David Gower and John Hampshire have all appeared in past years.
However, Broughton lost a high-scoring encounter with Appleby-Frodingham 2nds.
Liam Grimes hit 109 for the Steelmen in their 232 for one in the permitted 45 overs, while Broughton responded with 208 all-out.
Veteran all-rounder John Taylor, who lives in Brigg, took two wickets for Appleby-Frodingham.
Brigg Town's cricketers had completed their Lincs League season the previous weekend, as champions of division four.
