BRIGG BLOG PREVIEWS THE LOCAL 2018/19 FOOTBALL SEASON
Brigg Town Football Club (Brigg Town CIC*) will be playing Gainsborough Trinity Reserves in a pre-season friendly at the Hawthorns ground on Saturday, August 11 (3pm kick-off).
The opening game for the Zebras' in the Lincolnshire League Premier will be away to Horncastle Town on August 18.
The first home fixture will be against Immingham Town on Saturday, August 25.
The teams in this competition as well as Brigg Town CIC are Cleethorpes Town Reserves, Gainsborough Trinity Reserves, Grimsby Borough Reserves, Horncastle Town, Immingham Town, Louth Town, Lincoln Moorlands Railway, Lincoln United Reserves, Nettleham, Ruston Sports and Spalding United Development Squad.
Further down the Saturday football pyramid, Brigg-based Briggensians have gained promotion to division one of the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League 2018-19 - sponsored by a Brigg company.
Briggensians will be playing in the same section as Barnetby United.
Division two includes Barnetby United Reserves and Hibaldstow Wanderers.
There are no league games scheduled in August; things will get into full swing next month.
The Scunthorpe & District Sunday League 2018/2019 sees AFC Brigg in division one alongside Broughton WMC.
Newcomers Barnetby United start out in division three.
The Sunday league is scheduled to get under way in late September.
