BRIGG TOWN COUNCIL REJECTS NATWEST COMMUNITY BANKER PRESENTATION
Brigg Town Council has decided not to agree to receiving a presentation from a NatWest Community Banker.
NatWest has announced that it will be closing its branch in Brigg Market Place in June.
During the latest meeting in the Angel Suite, Coun Mike Campion told his colleagues that the bank had "ignored" requests to reconsider its decision.
He considered that a presentation to councillors by a representative of NatWest would just be "a PR exercise."
Coun Chris Dyson said he was also against such a presentation, feeling that Barclays and Lloyds - the other banks with branches in Brigg - "should also get a chance."
Coun Brian Parker thought that if a presentation was "constructive and helpful" the council should listed to what the bank had to say.
Once NatWest closes its Brigg Branch, pictured above, it has indicated that advisers will be on hand locally to help customers.
At a previous meeting, Coun Rob Waltham, the leader of North Lincolnshire Council, indicated that the unitary authority was willing to make a building available to NatWest where it could assist Brigg and district customers.

The reality is that Nat West is not going to waiver from its decision to close because of pressure from Brigg Town Council.

Also....BTC and NLC once the bank is closed (as with HSBC) that any external alterations, such as the removal of the ATM machine are sympathetically repaired with appropriate carved stone and not not left as an obvious blot on the building (as with HSBC)....
ReplyDeleteone has only to look what happened in barton to see how nat west deals with it's customers, best advice is to change banks.
