Bus passengers in Brigg who were anticipating an increase in fares have received a very pleasant surprise.
Hornsby's have REDUCED the return fare from Brigg to central Scunthorpe (via Broughton) by 30p to £6.
Last week, Brigg Blog was informed that a review was imminent of fares for those who use the popular No 4 service.
So on Monday morning we had extra change to hand - thinking we'd have to tender a further 20p, 30p or even 40p.
However, when we asked the driver how much was now required, he asked for only £6.
Others who boarded the bus were also very pleasantly surprised.
At a time when the cost of many things is rising while some people enjoy little or no rise in income, every little helps.
Ashby-based Hornsby's have been in the bus business for more than 100 years.
