FROM KIRSTY WESTFIELD, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL
Future housing and business needs in North Lincolnshire are the subject of a consultation taking place in North Lincolnshire with businesses and residents.
North Lincolnshire Council is preparing a new Local Plan which will identify needs and opportunities over the next 19 years in relation to housing, business growth and infrastructure.
Views are being sought on the draft plan. It sets out the vision and objectives for the area – acting as a guide for future development.
Cllr Rob Waltham (Brigg & Wolds), Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, who is asking people to share their views on the plan, said: "We want to find out how residents and businesses would like North Lincolnshire to develop. It’s your local area so tell us what you think its future should look like. A number of issues and options were identified within the plan at the last consultation, which we are asking for comments on.”
Have your say online at www.northlincs.gov.uk/current-consultations.
The consultation will run from Monday 29 January to Monday 12 March 2018.

Cllr Waltham, continued: “Our ambition for North Lincolnshire is that it is the best place in which to live, work, visit and invest. Therefore it is important that we get the Local Plan right to help deliver this ambition.
“By developing the plan it gives us the opportunity to look back and assess what has been achieved since 2011, to re-evaluate the area’s current position and to look at what type of place North Lincolnshire will be in 19 years’ time and how we intend to get there.
“I’d encourage residents and businesses to share their views either by going to the consultation events or online.”
N.F. ADDS: This is an important consultation on a subject affecting everyone. So it's to be hoped that people do their best to attend and make their views known on future development. Note that the council says residents can submit sites they think should be considered for future development. With thanks to Neil Stapleton for the bird's eye Brigg picture used above.
Create a new town development to the west of Melton Ross...the basic infrastructure already exists...port, airport, railway and motorway....plus a developing enterprise zone.
ReplyDeleteIn general, new town's have been creeping North since Welwyn Garden City was built in the 1920's...
Sorry...to the east of Melton Ross...
