TAKE A BUTCHERS AT OUR BARNETBY FOOTBALL REPORT

PICTURES AND REPORT FROM LEE FIELDEN, BARNETBY UNITED FC

Barnetby United 2-3 The Butchers Arms - EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District Football League Division One

Despite the heavy pitch, both sides played out a highly entertaining game which could have gone either way.
The Butchers Arms clinched the game by the odd goal in 5.
Having lost 5-1 and 4-1 in their previous encounters, it was Barnetby who started the brighter and following a couple of missed chances it was the evergreen Micky Dunnion who notched his first 1st team goal since 2006 to put United into a deserved lead.
Butchers hit back though, and following a deflected equaliser led at the break after an own goal.
Barnetby flew out of the traps in the 2nd half and missed a glorious chance to equalise when Harry Dunnion fluffed his lines at the far post.
Their persistence was rewarded though when from a clearance by the Butchers keeper Will Dawson returned the ball from 45 yards to bring Barnetby level.
Having lost Glentworth and Bradley through injury, Barnetby then lost Frankish - and while down to 10 men, Butchers notched the winning goal.
