BRIGG FOOTBALLERS TOP OF THE TABLE

Briggensians Football Club - based in Brigg - lead the way at the top of division two in the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League, not having dropped a point in four fixtures.
Briggensians continued their cracking start to the league season with an 8-2 win away to bottom side Santon yesterday (Saturday, October 8).
Ben Lingard led the way with five goals, and there was one apiece for Ross Belton, Tom Raithby and Tom Burkinshaw.
There was also a good away win for Banetby United in the second round of the Lincolnshire Junior Cup.
The villagers triumphed 6-2 at Old Doningtonians, through a hat-trick by Will Hartley and further goals from Shaun Clark, Steve Glentworth and Rick Carter.
