DON'T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR ALTERED BIN COLLECTION DATES, BRIGG FOLK ADVISED

North Lincolnshire Council has issued a reminder about this week's bin collections.
This is because the refuse and recycling teams will NOT be visiting Brigg households to collect any bins or boxes tomorrow, Tuesday.

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL
Don’t forget to check your bin and box collections

The countdown is on for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain coming to North Lincolnshire for stage 3 of the race on Tuesday 5 September.
To help the cycling race run smoothly, there will be no bin, box or bag collections on this day.
If Tuesday is your usual collection day, we will collect:

  • Your green or black general waste bin, recycling boxes and textile bags on Saturday 9 September; OR
  • Your brown recycling bin on Saturday 9 September and your burgundy recycling bin on Monday 11 September.  (THIS APPLIES TO US - N.F).
Excess waste and recycling can be taken to your nearest Household Recycling Centre.
The changes will affect around 16,000 residential properties, predominantly in Barton, Brigg and Wolds ward and Ferry ward.
Coun Neil Poole, Cabinet Member for Investment, Assets and Employment at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The Tour of Britain race route in North Lincolnshire covers many of the same areas we would be collecting bins and boxes on that day so we would struggle to collect at all our properties and wouldn’t want our vehicles to get in the way of the race.
“Hosting a full stage of the Tour of Britain is a fantastic opportunity for North Lincolnshire and we want to make sure we make the most of it and really showcase our beautiful area.”
You can find your nearest Household Recycling Centre and check your collection dates by visiting northlincs.gov.uk/waste
Please also be aware that as the Tour of Britain route around North Lincolnshire will take the riders past our Household Recycling Centres at Belton and Kirton, the two centres will close around 45 minutes before the riders come through and reopen once the race has passed to make sure the roads around the sites are clear.
You can keep up with all the latest news in the run up to Tour of Britain race day by visiting nltour.co.uk or by finding NorthLincsToB on Facebook and Twitter.
