BRIGG ALL GEARED UP AS OVO ENERGY TOUR OF BRITAIN COMES TO TOWN

Top cyclists will be racing through Brigg today (Tuesday, September 5) as North Lincolnshire forms a stage of the  OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
Brigg is all geared up, with some town centre businesses decorating their windows (see pictures below).
Green bikes - like the one seen above on the A18 roundabout near our Tesco and Lidl stores -  are being used as route indicators as the race criss-crosses the district.
Here's a reminder of the estimated times if you want to watch the race pass by:
  • Messingham High Street 1.09pm Greetwell 1.24pm
  • Kirton Lindsey 1.32pm
  • Redbourne 1.38pm
  • Hibaldstow (Station Road) 1.43pm
  • Scawby (West Street) 1.46pm
  • Scawby Brook 1.50pm
  • Brigg (Bridge Street) 1.52pm
  • Brigg (Barnard Avenue) 1.53pm
  • Brigg (Wrawby Road) 1.54pm
  • Wrawby 1.56pm
  • Melton Ross 2.05pm
  • Kirmington 2.11pm
  • Croxton 2.13pm
Choose your vantage point with care. You are  strongly advised to be there at least half-an-hour before the listed time.
It will be interesting to see how many people in the Brigg area turn out to watch the race.
Roads will be closed to traffic prior to, during and immediately after the riders pass through. But drivers should not be held up for more than half-an-hour.
Brigg Community Wellbeing Hub staff will be running a stall at the start of the race at Normanby Hall.
Our Hub is off Horstead Avenue, on the Springbank housing estate.
