BIG TURN-OUT FOR BRIGG MEMORIAL UNVEILING

There was a big turn-out for special sports matches played at Brigg Recreation Ground yesterday (Sunday, September 10).
A plaque was unveiled in memory of Brigid "Brid" Vaughan, pictured below, a long-serving hockey player, coach and club official who died late last year.

It is on top of one of the dug-outs at the side of the "Blue Astro" all-weather pitch.
Men's and ladies' hockey matches took place on the  floodlit facility opened earlier this year by North Lincolnshire Council.
Refreshments were made available in the new pavilion.
Many spectators - young and not so young - went along to watch the matches and make  donations to charity in Brid's memory.
