CHAMPIONSHIP-CHASING BRIGG TOWN IN EXCITING FINISH TO THE SEASON

Brigg Town's bid to secure the Lincolnshire County Cricket League's fourth division championship will be decided during the final Saturday of the season.
Brigg and Cleethorpes 4ths are  chasing the title and both have games on the last weekend of the campaign.
Brigg will be at Horncastle on Saturday, September 9, with Cleethorpes playing the following day at Haxey 2nds.
Having topped the table for some time, Brigg currently have an 11-point lead - 20 being the maximum a team can obtain for an outright win, depending on runs scored and wickets taken.
Unfortunately, Brigg lost to Cleethorpes on Sunday at Hibaldstow, in a high-scoring clash between the top two teams.
Cleethorpes elected to bat first and their top three batsmen all managed half-centuries in a total of 212 for three, with Brigg's Jack Richards and Danny Minshall managing a wicket apiece and Matthew Bell pulling off a run-out.
Brigg were then dismissed for 170, Danny Bradley hitting 47, Matthew Bell finishing undefeated on 36 and Danny Minshall scoring 22.
Brigg were undone by Cleethorpes veteran Jeff Todd, who played for the Lincolnshire Minor Counties team during the 1980s.
Jeff recorded career best Lincs League figures of eight for 51, while experienced captain and keeper Craig Brown gave full support with four dismissals.
