DELAYS FOR DRIVERS ON ROADS IN AND NEAR BRIGG
Motorists using roads in Brigg and district that are on the race route will want to know about delays to traffic.
What they call a rolling roadblock will operate. Between 15 and 20 minutes before the riders come through, police motorcyclists will shut the road and clear it of traffic.
Once the race has passed, the road will reopen.
No section should be shut for more than 30 minutes in total.
So take careful note if you are planning to drive on the A18 in Brigg early in the afternoon on September 5.
North Lincolnshire Council expects 200,000 spectators during the 178km stage which will criss-cross the district - north, south, east and west.

The local authority's leader, Coun Rob Waltham, from Brigg, seen above during the stage launch at the Buttercross in April,  said: “We’ve managed to keep our road closures to a minimum to avoid unnecessary disruption on race day but we apologise for any inconvenience these closures will cause. We’re encouraging residents to be aware and plan their journeys so they don’t get caught up.
“Hosting the Tour of Britain is an excellent opportunity for North Lincolnshire to showcase our area on a national stage and we want it to run as smoothly as possible. We’re expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors to come to our spectator-friendly stage, providing a welcome boost to our local economy and employment.”
