AMAZING £2,217 EFFORT BY BRIGG CHARITY FUNDRAISERS WITH MORE TO COME IN

The amount raised in July for Pancreatic Cancer Action through a 60k bike ride in Yorkshire to mark Andrew Markham's 60th year, collections at Brigg Farmers' Market (pictured) and other efforts now stands at £2,217.
This will increase once gift aid and other outstanding donations are taken into account.
Posters will be going up in Brigg and Halifax to thank everyone for helping to raise what is described as an amazing total.
Andrew says the bike ride is to be the last individual challenge he undertakes.
It will be 40 years in September since he did his first Land's End-John O'Groats hitch-hike for Birch House, on Grammar School Road, Brigg.
This led to the formation of Brigg Young Poachers - a group which raised money for charitable causes over 5-6 years.
"I've enjoyed the things I've done, including cycling to Wembley and joining Chalkie White on his dinosaur pulls, to name just a few," Andrew told Brigg Blog.
"I'm not getting any younger and it's time to draw a line.
"I will continue to campaign with Tracy Whitfield, Zoe Hall and Lesley Whitehand to raise awareness of, and funds for, pancreatic cancer and will be on hand to support or advise anyone with their own project. You know where to find me."

  • Lesley and her nieces will be walking 100k on 9th September for Alzheimer's and Pancreatic Cancer Action. Your support for that will be appreciated.
