BRIGG CRICKETERS JOIN ANOTHER LEAGUE


Brigg Town Cricket Club will be taking part in two leagues during the 2017 season.
In addition to playing in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League which is sponsored by Readers, Brigg have also entered the Grimsby & District League.
The latter is a Sunday competition, while most Lincs League games are on Saturdays.
This coming Sunday, Brigg are due to visit Holton-le-Clay to play Phoenix, starting at 11.30am.
The Grimsby League was founded in 1921 and the Lincs League in 1963.
Brigg played in the then Saturdays only Grimsby League in 1974 and 1975, home games being at the Recreation Ground.
Town  then gained admission to the Lincs League for the 1976 season.
