BRIGG TO MARK 100th ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST WORLD WAR ENDING

Brigg Town Council has now accepted a tender for renovation of the Monument war memorial.
Deputy Town Clerk Alison Hannath told the March meeting that the aim was to have the memorial "fresh for 2018" which will see the 100th anniversary of the ending of the First World War.
During the Annual Town Meeting that followed later that evening, Ken Harrison - an interested member of the public - suggested that some sort of temporary structure might be put in place near the Monument to keep the wreaths in place following Remembrance Sunday.
Ken also suggested that the Union Flag should proceed the procession on Remembrance Sunday.
