BRIGG COMMUNITY AWARD WINNER

Peter Jacklin has kindly forwarded this picture of himself holding his coveted Joseph J. Magrath services to the community award, recently presented by Brigg Town Council in the Angel Suite.
Although we included a picture of him receiving his award from Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley during the presentation ceremony, we did not have a "stock" image to hand of Peter when we gave the list of winners when they were announced in March. However, we did include pictures of all the others.
Peter gained the award for his work as a volunteer driver and Transport Manager with Brigg & District Gateway Club, together with taking on the additional role as Treasurer and helping out with any other job that arises within the club.
The other recipients were:
Chris Darlington – for his continued support for the Brigg Community over many years, including his activities in support of LIVES, Brigg Town Business Partnership, Brigg Live Arts, Rotary Club and various music festivals.
Karen Deeley - for her efforts in raising the profile of the Women’s Institute and in particular for the recent Christmas community event which she took the lead on, arranging the food, transport, entertainment and other volunteers.
Andrew Markham, Zoe Hall & Lesley Whitehand of Brigg Pancreatic Cancer Group – for their regular activities in promoting awareness of and raising funds for this virulent form of cancer.
Belated apologies to Peter: Brigg Blog has a very extensive archive of pictures built up over many years, but somehow he had managed to escaped our lens!
