ROYAL SIGN IN BRIGG NEEDS SOME T.L.C

Lady Diana - the Princess of Wales - famously came to Brigg in March 1988 to launch the town centre's Regeneration Project.
Maybe you were among the large crowd which gathered in the Market Place that day.
The plaque pictured here was erected above the front entrance to the flagship Buttercross to mark the royal visit to our town.
However, as our recently-taken image indicates, the ravages of time and English weather have taken their toll over the years.
Moss has gathered and is spoiling the appearance of a sign marking a major moment in Brigg's long history.
We are confident that North Lincolnshire Council, which owns and operates the Buttercross, will get someone from its tidying team to afford the plaque a bit of tender loving care and return it to pristine condition once more.
