BRIGG FARMERS' MARKET FEATURES CHARITY COLLECTIONS

They displayed a board on a Brigg Farmers' Market stall near the County Bridge on Saturday, saying these monthly sales have been taking place for 15 years.**

That set us wondering whether any of the current stall-holders have been there throughout. Or, if not, which of the current producers is the longest-serving in terms of supporting this popular event with local shoppers.
We have put those questions to North Lincolnshire Council, which runs the farmers' market and hope to bring you the answers at a later date.
Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese is certainly a long-server, and we can't resist buying a block of this tasty delicacy.
Brigg Blog never likes people to forget that the Saturday general market operates alongside the farmers' market on the fourth Saturday of the month (and on the other three).

Last weekend's saw Brigg Town Mayor Coun Ann Eardley (above right) and her Deputy, Coun Sharon Riggall (left), with tables set up near the church entrance on Wrawby Street, selling tombola tickets in aid of the Mayor's Appeal Fund which will be making donations to worthy causes in due course.

In the Market Place, Andrew Markham and Zoe Hall (above) were on a stall raising awareness of pancreatic cancer and also making a collection to assist action against this killer condition.
Andrew informs Brigg Blog that the total collected on Saturday was £755.
"Thanks to everyone who donated and more importantly visited our stall and took a badge or leaflet. It helps to spread the word about this horrible illness," he added.
"We will be in The Foundry in Scunthorpe on Saturday, 11th  March."
