WHEN DID GRAHAM TAYLOR PRESENT BRIGG SCHOOL PRIZES?

Which Brigg school did football manager Graham Taylor visit during the late 1980s or early 1990s to present prizes?
There's a black and white picture in the very extensive Scunthorpe Telegraph image archive featuring Graham presenting a prize to a pupil, but sadly no other details have survived. In the days of 'mono' prints, the caption was written on paper and attached. But this one got detached prior to being scanned into the digital archive many years ago.
Graham, who has died aged 72, went on to manage England manager, having started his playing career as a full-back with Grimsby Town in the 1960s and been watched many times by Brigg supporters of the Mariners at Blundell Park. Remember the supporters' bus that used to pick up fans in Brigg for all home games?
Many fine tributes to Graham have been written.
The son of long-serving Scunthorpe Telegraph sportswriter Tom Taylor, he was guest editor of the paper for a day in 2007 and often returned to the town where he was educated, particularly to undertake charitable work.
He was a very nice man and we recall entering the editor's office for a chat while he was paying us a visit and presenting Graham with a copy of one of the Scunthorpe Telegraph nostalgia books we co-wrote with colleague Chris Horan.
The pictures of people and places it contained brought back some happy memories of his boyhood. He had a real soft spot for Scunthorpe.
If you can recall Graham visiting your Brigg school for the prize-giving we mentioned, please email scoopfisher@aol.com
It would be nice to use the picture in the Scunthorpe Telegraph's Nostalgia section.
While we were working at the Telegraph office early yesterday afternoon, the news came through of Graham's death.
We were put to work sourcing archive pictures and also contributed a few details to the Telegraph's extensive tribute. Read it here
