There is too much "dog muck" about on our pavements at present.
For some years the dog-walking public has deserved praise for cleaning up after their pets, with relatively few unsavoury deposits left in situ.
However, the standard seems to have slipped of late, meaning that pedestrians have to watch their step or risk putting a foot it in.
Please clean up after your pet and use the doggie-poo bins provided by the authorities at various locations.
The sign above sets out penalties that can be imposed.
It's also off-putting for passers-by when responsible dog owners who do clear up after their pets opt to use see-through bags, putting the contents on public display as they walk about the town. Use dark-coloured bags that are not transparent, please.
