BIG TURN-OUT FOR 'LAST CHANCE TO SEE' BRIGG GET-TOGETHER

People turned out in large numbers on Friday night to take a last look at the buildings at what is now the Vale Academy before , in January, they are replaced by the multi-million pound, 21st century 'new build' off Grammar School Road.
Those who attended had been pupils at the Academy's forerunner schools, stretching back to the 1950s, including Glanford and Westmoor Secondary Moderns.

We first got to hear about this farewell event many months ago when approached by long-serving Vale teacher Pat Neal, of Brigg, who was collecting pictures from the past and looking to add to his archive of material about the schools which came before the current academy.
We know that Pat - pictured above on his retirement day by Peter Thompson - has put a great deal of time and effort into this project. So we are delighted that so many people turned up on Friday night.
