CALL CONNECT BRIGG & DISTRICT SERVICE GOING MORE PLACES

The Call Connect bus service, trialled in Brigg and district over the past few months, has proved so successful that it is being extended to other parts of North Lincolnshire.
This will mean Brigg people being connected to additional desinations.
North Lincolnshire Council  says Roadshows to take place where people can register for Call Connect - also sometimes called CallConnect -  are as follows:

Today - Thursday 19 May
Wootton High Street, near Pond from 9am to 11am
Ulceby Village Hall from 11.30am to 1.30pm
South Killingholme community centre at 2pm to 3.30pm

Tomorrow - Friday 20 May
Barrow market place from 9am to 11am
New Holland (Magna Charta) from 11.30am to 1.30pm
Goxhill at Greenfields Sheltered Housing, Goxhill, DN19 7JB from 2pm to 3.30pm
If you can’t make the registration event, you can also register for CallConnect by phone: 0345 2638139 or visit www.northlincs.gov.uk/callconnect.

Call Connect will soon be rolled out to more areas – Burton and Winterton on 20 June and Isle of Axholme on 4 July. More details soon.

Coun David Wells, Lead Member for Public Transport at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This is a fantastic service and worthwhile investment that will enable lots of people to get out and about, effectively providing a lifeline to many.
“You can use the new bus to go to the dentist, doctors, shops, leisure centre, tourist attractions, friends or relatives, to get to Humberside Airport if you are going on holiday, to go the seaside, catch a train and much more. You can also use the bus to connect to other buses so you can travel even further!
“The way it works is simple. You register which is free and once you’ve registered, you can use the bus to travel to a whole range of great locations. You can book by telephone or online on the day you wish to travel or up to seven days in advance.
“The beauty of this new flexible service is that there is no set route and no set times like a normal bus service. Anyone can use the bus – it operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturdays.
“We hope to see lots of people at our roadshows where they will be able to register to use the new service and talk to those involved in setting it up. The bus will be there, so you can also take a look inside.”
