The reason of the massed exodus of parked cars was that Grammar School Road was scheduled to be surfaced dressed by contractors.
'No Parking' signs had been displayed on seemingly every lamp-post and there were warnings that cars would be towed away if owners failed to comply with the no parking notices.
But Mother Nature brought in inclement wet and chilly weather - neither conducive to effective road repairs.
The big yellow 'No Parking' signs remain, although they now have been amended to indicate that the surface dressing will, hopefully, be undertaken over TWO DAYS - Tuesday and Wednesday, 3rd and 4th May.
Could it be that 2 DAYS will give the contractors a longer weather window to complete the task?
Fingers & toes crossed and I'll get out my sun tan lotion just in case!
Nowt happened yesterday...perhaps they'll do the work today.
