Brigg pub beer gardens will be going head-to-head in the battle for customers over the coming weeks.
Now spring has sprung and we hopefully enjoy more fine sunny weather like today, beer gardens will really come into their own.
Pride of place in terms of location are enjoyed by the White Hart and the Nelthorpe Arms, both being alongside the Old River Ancholme. There's nothing quite like soaking up a few rays, pint in hand, even this far north!
We expect plenty of trade to be enjoyed by the new Dexters, with its beer garden palm trees and cabanas (beach-huts), plus JD Wetherspoon's White Horse, which has an extensive sun-trap alongside Grammar School Road South.
The long-established beer garden at the Yarborough Hunt, on Bridge Street, has long proved a draw on spring/summer evenings and afternoons. And the same goes for the Dying Gladiator, on Bigby Street.
We've also spent many a happy hour in the beer gardens at the Lord Nelson (Market Place) and the Britannia (Wrawby Street).
There's also an out-back facility of considerable size at the Woolpack (Market Place) and you can relax outside the Exchange, with access from Wrawby Street and Bigby Street.
Last, but by no means least, is the terrace/shelter at the side of the members-only Brigg District Servicemen's Club, off Coney Court.
Which of these are your favourite locations during the warmer months of the year? Answers, please, on the back of a beer mat. Or, if you find it easier, just post a comment!
....Raffles, Beach Rd., Singapore..a pint of beer is a bit steep, but it has a shopping arcade.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Dexters could evolve with a shopping mall in its car park..some veg, 2 pork chops, flowers for the missus and a sneaky pint with no valuable time lost...brillo!
