BRIGG HOCKEY VETERANS STILL GOING STRONG

Something to make you realise you are never too old.
(Sporting) Life begins at 40? 50?.... Try 61. 
The average age of the back line in the Brigg Hockey Club 4th XI.
In a recent fixture we played second in the table Grimsby 2nds, whose average age was considerable less than ours. We beat them 2-0. 
As well as us oldies at the back (oldest Alan West at 65, youngest me at 58) we had two players at 45. Throw in a couple of 30 pluses and three under 25s to do the running and we had a very balanced team.
We will finish halfway in Yorkshire Division 6 North and are looking forward to next season and maybe a promotion push.
