BRIGG NEWSPAPER MEMORIES

Our thanks to fellow journalist Peter Thompson for taking this picture at Brigg Servicemen's Club and kindly forwarding a copy. 

It was taken just prior to our talk to the February meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) about the History of the Lincolnshire & South Humberside Times weekly newspaper and shows us with the very last edition, from July 1985.

In the background you can just see the screen onto which Josie Webb, the BASH chairwoman, kindly displayed the digital images we had taken along, showing various Brigg & district scenes and people, taken in decades past.

We added a few comments on the pictures, as did members of the audience.

Due to time constraints and our full-time job, we don't deliver as many illustrated talks as we used to when we were 100 per cent freelance.

But we were honoured to be asked by BASH and managed to fit this one into the busy schedule.
