Fresh fruit & veg on offer at Brigg Market. FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL |
The council is looking for traders to join any of its markets across North Lincolnshire, including the Old Hall at Scunthorpe Market and Ashby Market.
Scunthorpe Market has two halls, the food hall is open Monday to Saturday and the Old Hall is open Friday and Saturday. To rent a stall in the food hall would cost from £60 per week and a stall in the Old Hall costs from £30.
Open stalls on Ashby Market, which is open every Thursday, cost less than £10 whereas lock-up stalls cost from £22.
Coun John Briggs, Cabinet Member for Assets, Culture and Housing, said: “The markets are such an important part of North Lincolnshire communities and we welcome all potential newcomers to the markets, even those who may not have thought of trading before. The markets have vacancies and stalls available for those wishing to join the industry.
“Our markets are brilliant places that sell a whole range of things. If you think you could add to this, get in touch.”
Vacancies are also available at both the Thursday and Saturday market in Brigg.
The Thursday street market, where stalls include canopies and serving boards, cost £14 per week.
Stalls at the smaller market, which is held on a Saturday, cost £12.60 per week and those who wish to trade at the Farmers’ Market on the fourth Saturday of every month will have to pay from £20 for their stall.
Prospective traders will need to register and fill in a simple form where they will have to provide proof of address and a form of photo ID.
